The Replay – Galatians 6:11-18

Slow motion, alternate camera angles, rewinds – all of these are the wonders of modern technology and they have been used in sports to relive great plays and horrible calls.  Such is our hope today as we get an instant … Continue reading

What really matters? (Galatians 6:11-18)

Scanning through my email, my attention is caught by the Bold Capital Letters that read – URGENT FAMILY BUSINESS.  I forget to look at the sender and open it to find an invitation to join a multi-level marketing scheme.  Disappointed, … Continue reading

The Replay of Galatians 6:6-10

Like a great football game, the replay’s come all through the action. I do not presume to be as entertaining as a football match but Christ’s message is certainly worth revisiting. It is midweek and here are my thoughts for … Continue reading

The Spiritual Life and Care of the Church (Gal 5:26-6:5)

What do you want? (Gal. 5:22-23 Part 1 of 4)

Gal. 5:22-23 Part I: What do you want? In his book Fruit of the Spirit, Stephen Winward reminds his readers of a question Jesus once asked a blind man: What do you want me to do for you?  (Mk 10:51).   … Continue reading

Free to Love and Serve – Galatians 5:13-26

Imagine with me a Palm tree.  The tall trunk wrapped in diamond scales.  The top bulging like a growth out of which shoots out the fronds, waving in the breeze.  Nestled between the leaves like a baby in her mother’s … Continue reading
