History and Prayer

History is not moving in a vacuum.  Before the throne, Psalm 110 tells us, we can watch history pursuing one increasing purpose: to bring about the fullest possible expression of Christ’s supremacy, to the farthest bounds of earth, to the greatest extent envisioned by the Father.

Therefore,

Because He is supreme, Jesus is also the ultimate Answer to all our prayers.  That’s why the last prayer of the Bible (Rev. 22:20) simply says: “Come, Lord Jesus.”
