Jude’s concluding words are doxological. By that I mean, he is giving glory to God. God is full of power, authority, majesty and glory. There is no other god like him, nor can there ever be. God alone sits enthroned over the cosmos and rules. This is a great hope for all who believe, for as Jude reminds us, this God is on our side presenting blameless, without spot or blemish and with great joy. This God has called us, this God keeps us and this God sustains us in our walk.
Sure we may try to fight against God, like setting the emergency brake while being towed, but because God is who God is, his power overpowers us and drags us across the finish line and sets us before His throne. This is a great encouragement to every believer. God is acting for me. I cannot ultimately thwart his plans for my salvation.
So I ask, are you cooperating with this God by repenting of your sin and believing the good news? Or are you setting the emergency brake and flattening your tires as God drags you to perfection? Pray for a willing heart and for God’s power, authority, majesty and glory to reign in your life.
